Christina Potter’s twenty-five plus years of training dogs have taught her more than her Masters Degree in Canine Psychology ever could. She has worked with many breeds such as Golden Retrievers, Chinese Cresteds, Berger Picards, and even an Afghan Hound. She has spent thousands of hours handling dogs for print ads, websites, motion capture for video games, commercials, and television shows—both live and pre-recorded. She was the animal handler on the live TV Special “2014 Hero Dog Awards,” the pilot episode of the TV series “The Good Cop” and the video short “…And She Was My Eve.” She was the on-set trainer for feature films “Funny Games,” “As Good As Dead,” “Our Idiot Brother,” “Second Act” and “Brittany Runs a Marathon.” She has also trained and titled dogs in Rally, Competitive Obedience, Conformation, Agility and Trick Dog.

She is the author of “Chester Gigolo: Diary of a Dog Star” and “Insider Training: Chester Gigolo’s Dog Training Secrets Revealed” for which she received the 2016 DWAA Captain Haggerty Award for Best Training Book and the 11th Annual National Indie Excellence Award (Animals & Pets), and “Head of the Pack: Chester Gigolo’s Advanced Dog Training Secrets.” She is a contributing author to “Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors.” She is a weekly columnist for the Three Dog Bakery company. She has also written numerous articles which have appeared in multiple national and international publications.

Christina, a member of the Dog Writers Association of America, is a federally-certified court interpreter who also holds a BS in Business and a Masters in Public Administration. She and her husband Taylor, a commercial airline pilot who holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering, currently live in the New York City area. They share their lives with their five dogs: Morgan, Hudson, Chester, Pepe and Rodney.
