As a valued member of the Three Dog Bakery Pack, we appreciate the trust you place in us and our people to provide you with the freshest, safest, and highest quality dog treats.

In the current environment, we want to update you with the steps we are proactively taking to ensure employee and food safety.  We are taking this matter seriously and have put contingency plans in place to do our part to help mitigate the spread of the virus while keeping our business running and your products in stock.

Employee Safety:

There is no higher priority than the safety of our Customers, Associates, and Team Members.  We are closely following the CDC’s guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.  We have reinforced those guidelines at all levels.  These guidelines are consistent with existing, active, operating company policies.

Food Safety:

Please refer to the current statement from the FDA (03.20.2020) on Food Safety and the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19):

“Currently there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19.  Unlike foodborne gastrointestinal (GI) viruses like norovirus and hepatitis A that often make people ill through contaminated food, SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, is a virus that causes respiratory illness. Foodborne exposure to this virus is not known to be a route of transmission.”

Out of an abundance of caution, we have enhanced our existing food safety program by:

• Increasing the cleaning and sanitation frequency and sanitation verification frequency.
• Re-training all personnel in cleaning procedures, sanitation procedures, proper hygiene and illness management.
• Verifying that all our vendors have updated risk management and Food Safety plans in place.

Business continuity:

We are working with our trusted suppliers to secure the raw materials to continue producing.  As you know, all our facilities are in the US, and we source most of our raw materials from the US.  For those few specific ingredients that have sources outside the country, we are working with our suppliers to ensure we have continuity of supply.  We maintain approved suppliers for every ingredient and carry two weeks of physical inventory as a normal practice.

We are also doing our part to be responsible citizens in the communities where we live.  We are supporting all local health authority recommendations, including providing associates the ability to work from home if a local issue arises and their jobs allow.  Our IT department has confirmed our infrastructure is more than enough to allow our business to continue to operate as usual.

Rest assured Three Dog Bakery is doing everything possible to control the spread of the Coronavirus while still maintaining our operations to serve our customers, our Pet Parents and our Furry Friends.
