KANSAS CITY, MO –Veterans’ Day marks a day our nation honors its military servicemen and women. This year, it’s also a day that Three Dog Bakery and FISH (Friends in Service to Heroes) will present a service dog to an Army hero, Private First Class Wes Helton. He will receive Dazie, a Double Doodle, trained to help with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), at the Three Dog Bakery – BluHawk (7951 W. 160th Street, Suite 520, Overland Park, Kansas), at 11:00 a.m. on Veterans’ Day, Saturday, November 11th.

Since Veterans’ Day, 2014, Three Dog Bakery Corporate, Three Dog Bakery franchisees, and man’s best friend have done their part by raising over $19,000 to help FISH purchase service dogs to aid veterans in their daily lives and help with the placement of two service dogs with veterans. Three Dog Bakery donates an amount equal to 15 percent of the total product sales on Veterans’ Day, through its bakeries, retail outlets, and online toFISH.Also, Three Dog Bakery contributes a year’s supply of its Bake To Nature dog food and treats to the recipients of its service dog initiative.

FISH, a non-profit organization, focuses on helping veterans of every age and their families maintain their freedom and improve their quality of life. With the donations from the Three Dog Bakery Veterans’ Day promotion, FISH purchases service dogs to distribute to veterans in need. “Service and companion dogs have become a life-changing necessity for many returning veterans, but are cost prohibitive for most,” says FISH Founder Paul Chapa.
